- The established central neighbourhoods sit between the lake and the north end: Williamsburg and Pringle Creek, with mostly detached family homes near schools and parks, and Blue Grass Meadows and Rolling Acres, with detached homes mostly from the 1980s and 1990s.
- If you use the 407 or 412
- Taunton North, with recent detached and townhome subdivisions near the 407, and Brooklin, the village to the north with larger newer homes and a historic main street. Highway 412 links the north end to the 401.
- If you want to walk
- Downtown Whitby, along Brock Street, is the historic core: century homes, infill, shops and restaurants close enough to walk to.
